Tuthilltown Spirits - The Home of Hudson Whiskey

Tuthilltown Spirits

New York's First Distillery after Prohibition

Over 230 years ago, the story of our distillery began with the construction of the Tuthilltown Gristmill, a testament to New York ingenuity. Later it played host to another New Yorker, Ralph Erenzo, who made whiskey in the state for the first time since Prohibition. That bold, pioneering spirit permeates every part of our craft. Our home is where innovation, collaboration, art, and exploration converge. It's where New York converges too. Our 36 acres are situated on the outer fringe of the New York metropolitan area, at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains, in the heart of the Hudson Valley. We're inspired by all of it, from the bright lights of Broadway to the Hudson Valley's scenic views. Discover the natural beauty of our home, and join us for a tour, guided tasting, or cocktail workshop to get a taste of the way we do things.

Hudson Whiskey

Crafted with Care

As a pioneer of the American craft whiskey movement, Hudson Whiskey started out like many New York stories, with a daring proposition. In this case, to make New York’s first bourbon ever and to open the first distillery in the state since Prohibition. Hudson Whiskey was invented with a rebellious mind-set to create a bold American whiskey unlike any other within the category, from a place unlike any other in the world, New York. Based in the picturesque Hudson Valley, Hudson Whiskey is 100% NY made sourcing all ingredients locally from family farmers in the Hudson Valley for rich, grain-forward flavor. The portfolio proudly boasts the reinvented Bright Lights, Big Bourbon and Do The Rye Thing. Alongside these flagship variants, Hudson Whiskey has reimagined a perennial favorite, Maple Cask Rye, into Short Stack, a straight rye whiskey finished in maple syrup casks, and introduced Back Room Deal, a straight rye whiskey finished in peated Scotch barrels.
